Loskop Valley
De Voetpadkloof is a resort located in Loskop Valley, approximately 40 km from Middleburg. Voets Toets Hiking took a well deserved break at this lovely resort for a few days of rest and a bit of adventure.
A variety of hiking trails available. Ranging from 1km to 9km.
Easy to intermediate
Sun protection, hydration, and a trusted pair of Merrell footwear for the rocky sections of the trail.
Route:
We rated the trail we completed as easy to intermediate. It was a well marked route and had a moderate incline initially, which gave us beautiful views of the resort and surrounding mountains. The resort is home to a lot of game ranging from wildebeest and baboons to an assortment of buck, so respect and vigilance of your surroundings is important.

There was a heat wave during our visit, so it was imperative to ensure proper sun protection. Hydration was essential with the rising temperatures. Our preferred Merrell Footwear did the trick with the rocky sections of the trail.

The resort has accommodation ranging from camping grounds to chalets and log cabins. It has an assortment of activities such as kayaking, zip lining, super tubing, paintballing and putt putt. There are hot and cold pools available as well as, a tea garden on-site. This venue is ideal for the whole family to enjoy a good rest and break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life 👣
