Voets Toets Hiking completed both trails. We started with the more technical, advanced Rooi-ivoor route. This route is quite technical, and involves both elevation gain and navigation through the rocky trail. The route takes you up the koppie where you get beautiful views from the top. It's a shaded hike with many trees and the bird life was amazing!
The route then took us back to the trail centre and we proceeded into the Visarend trail. This route is ideal for families with little ones and those that want a relaxing walk. It's rated as easy with the trail being even ground and easy to navigate. The trail took us through Bushveld and open grassland with a rest break at the Ronan Erasmus dam. Both routes provided us with an opportunity to enjoy a more challenging route testing our hiking skills and a more relaxed trail to end off our hiking adventure. It's also a pet friendly venue so your fur babies are welcome to join 🐶

It was a balmy day, which was perfect for hiking, but sun protection is always a necessity. It is advised to have hiking sticks/trekking poles for the advanced trail to assist with your stability. Our Merrell shoes provided grip and support when navigating through the rocky areas. Hydration and energy snacks are recommended.
