The trail is very scenic as you meander along the base of the mountain, making your way to the waterfall. When you reach the waterfall, it is always busy as everyone wants to go in to experience the exhilarating cold water running over you.
It is always refreshing to be there. When you leave the waterfall, the route takes you onto the trail to the mountain behind the waterfall. There is a cross that you will find along this trail and thereafter you meander towards the end of the trail. The scenery from that angle is incredible as you overlook the Ruimsig area.

You must take care when hiking near the cows and the bulls because they can be quite feisty and will walk in your pathway. MOOOOOOOOve out of the way for them.

Our March 2024 Otter Group did the Suikerbosrand Trail as a training hike. They enjoyed the trail and bonded while preparing for the Otter Trail experience.

The cost for this trail is R50 per person and there is no pensioner rate or minor rate.
They do have a restaurant on site.
They are only open on Saturday and Sunday and Public Holidays.
If you are a group of more than 20 hikers, you are advised to just send them a message so that they can plan accordingly.
The food is great and the staff are very friendly.
There is ample parking space available at this venue
