Layered clothing, hiking stick (recommended), Merrell hiking shoes

Route:

We rated the trail as easy. The trail began just down the road from the main reception building and took us in a circular route around the property. The trail has an assortment of vegetation, from bushy shaded areas to an open plain where we admired the sheer beauty of the solid rock face of the Magalies Mountains.

It was here where we were enthralled by the sight of Cape Griffon vultures circling the mountain. The route ends back at the main reception area.

Field Notes:

It was a very chilly morning, so it's recommended to layer your clothing. Keeping our heads, hands, and neck warm was important for the initial part of the trial. Some areas were quite rocky, so a hiking stick is recommended if you need stability. Our Merrell shoes are always a winner on any terrain, even the easier ones!

Trail Log:

This venue was stunningly beautiful and definitely worth a visit! We treated ourselves to a delicious cappuccino at the restaurant after the chilly walk.

Their facilities include accommodation, a restaurant, bar, and they also have conference and wedding facilities available. There is an assortment of buck and wildlife on the property, and the well-manicured gardens surrounding the property had us mesmerised.

It's advised to call ahead of time to enquire about the availability of the facilities.
