3, 7 and 12 km routes for hiking and over 30km of road/trails for mountain biking/hiking.
The trails are well marked and easy to navigate.
Merrell shoes, walking stick (optional), water and fruit/snacks
This was a beautiful African landscape! The trails are well marked and easy to navigate. We were blessed to see giraffe, gemsbok, wildebeest, zebra, eland and impala en route. The birdlife was also exquisite, offering us bird calls not experienced/heard before! It was a terrain that offered open veld plains, rocky outcrops and lush vegetation, offering us a diverse experience of African land.
Follow The RouteOur Merrell shoes are always a winner in the African bush, offering good grip and stability. A hiking stick is not needed, but does give you added stability. Being a hot day, we had to ensure enough hydration with some fruit for energy.
Join Our Hiking ClubAfter our hike, we went to our chalets for a much-needed rest and good old SA braai. We were blessed with a refreshing thunderstorm that early evening which brought the lands back to life!
For a true bush break, this reserve offers self-catering stone and wooden chalets. There are beautifully restored ox wagons available for bigger groups/families. They offer day visits and camping facilities with the option of game viewing as well. "Stay with us and experience the beauty and tranquility of our hidden valley" is the reserve's mantra, and that they truly lived up too! We'll be back!👣
