The route was well marked. It's a flat trail which is suitable for adults and children alike. It was a beautiful trail with various landscapes, lush greenery and open velds. There are 3 dams on the route, Blue Crane Dam, Grebe Dam and the Fish Eagle Dam where we saw eager fisherman starting their day early. The birdlife was truly remarkable and we saw a kettle of vultures flying overhead, which is a rare sight in the city.

Although we started the hike early, the sun was blazing! Sunscreen and adequate coverage from the sun is needed. Hydration was essential due to heat and distance. Our preferred Merrell shoes gave us the comfort needed for the long distance covered.
