Voets Toets Hiking completed 6 km of trails and we would rate it easy to moderate. The trail starts at the chapel/restaurant and leads one straight into an incline. The uphill was rocky, so good footing was needed. The views from the mountaintop were beautiful and we got a good view of the river running alongside the property. The route then took us steadily down the mountainside, where we reached our picnic stop along the river. After our snacks, we then proceeded back up the mountain. This steep ascent did take our breath away! We came across old ruins from back in the day which was quite special to see. We ended our hike through the forest area on the property. The bird life we heard there was phenomenal and so peaceful.

It was initially quite chilly so a light durable jacket is recommended. Sun protection is always a must even in our colder winter weather. Merrell shoes and a hiking stick are recommended as most of the trail is rocky and requires balance and good footing.
